It's a musical jewelry box. I can tell you that's it's Italian design marquetry. I have a musical marquetry jewelry box with two ballerinas exactly like the one in your jewelry box. The movement is Swiss. I also have an Italian design marquetry table music box - this one:

I would say your musical jewelry box is from the 1950s and is in very good condition.

Wow that's awesome. What would this be valued at?

Very nice!! Unfortunately, CW prohibits any of it's members from giving out item values, buying or selling while on CW.
You might try a good antique shop that you trust. They could probably put a value on it, or a very close figure anyway.
      Thanks for sharing!!

Depending on the maker of the Movement and if the musical movement itself is in good condition, depends on its value. Swiss movements are best with Thorens being a good value and movement.

Thank everyone for your help. Everything works on this piece. The music is crisp and a nice sounding piece

Just wondering if anyone that knows anything about this could speak to me about this item via email?
