Built by The C.O and S.F Co Ltd in Preston Ontario. Unsure of the wood. It is heavy and solid. There is an ink well in the lid of the drawer. Desk measures 26" deep, 31" high and 44" wide. Is it worth having appraised, if so who does appraisals. It has been refinished "distressed".

I have owned several of these over the years. It is a bookshelf desk. Popular about 50 to years ago. All but one I owned were painted. In that I prefer natural wood I stripped them. Every one of the painted desks was painted for the same reason, someone spilled a bottle of blue ink on the top. The inks was so deep in the grain of the wood there was no getting it out. All but one was mahogany the other one was oak. I think the cost of appraisal would exceed the value of the table.
