Durand Moorish crackle ball bottle vase, blue and white crackle over ambergris body and lustered, 11 1/4" H. Unsigned. Moorish crackle was difficult to make. While still hot, the plated glass would be dipped in water, fracturing the outside layers. The glass would then be reheated and blown into shape. This would cause the fractures to be spread apart and expose some of the base color. The vase was lustered. Many pieces were damaged in this process. At 11 1/4"h, this is a rather large example of the Morrish Crackle.

What a Fabulous Finish. Huge !!!

Wow. This is a new finish to me- I can see there would be production losses making them, and one this big would be even more difficult to finish successfully.
