I am not big into art pottery but I found this at the Goodwill and the price was right so I nabbed it. I am unsure if this is a correct mark or is it a fake? If any one knows I would be thankful.

Looks like genuine Weller to me. Not confident of the pattern but maybe Wild Rose? Love old pottery, especially Weller! Maybe this could be the start of a brand new collection?

Hello.......At the moment, I have to say that this is a reproduction. At one time, China imported pottery like this. The signature is similar to a real signature Weller used but it is not exact. Now with that said, I am sure someone will tell me I am wrong. Oh well, just my opinion.

I have several pieces of Weller in Wild Rose pattern--this is definitely not the Wild Rose. A quick perusal of the Huxford Guide to Weller Pottery (older edition) shows a similar pattern called Blossom, and one piece in that pattern has a somewhat similar base (letter G was used in mark on base). On the other hand, the signature looks "relatively" authentic, i.e., looks like several Weller pieces which I have and know are the real thing (a lot of Weller pottery has no mark at all). Personally, a good Weller piece can be judged by the "feel" and weight of the pot. I wouldn't tell you it isn't the real thing, but if you can consult an expert on Weller pottery, therein will lie your answer. As long as you like/love the piece, that's what counts the most.
