Thrift store find, bought them because they are pretty. I think they could be used candle holders. They also could be a really fancy tiki type mug or even a vase that you could never properly clean. They stand 7 3/4" high and approximately 4 1/2" wide. The top is 3 1/2" diameter but the actual hole is only 3/4" diameter and not round more of an oval shape. There are no markings on the bottom. The drip glaze only goes about 2" down on the inside.

To clean you might want to try one of the methods in the link. When I started collecting "old" bottles I remember using rice, so before I posted the link I checked it over. http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf/CleaningGroup/Dishes/Cleaning-the-Inside-of-Bottles.html
Anyhow, some good tips here for your vases.
