    The Stenograph was invented by Miles Bartholomew, a newspaper reporter, who patented his invention in 1879. His Stenograph was the first mechanical printing machine for shorthand.

    This example on the wooden base was the first model produced. Later models would have a cast metal base.

      You're very Welcome, I appreciate almost anything mechanical in nature and design, the earlier the equipment, the better I like ....these Stenographs you've posted a really top shelf in my opinion
