Small collection of rocks from 1900

I found this small green box in an antique shop - with some rock samples and fossils inside. Two of the rocks still bear the original label - the name of the place where they were found and a date (1900). One of the rocks is from Mt. Vesuvius, it's a hardened lava sample and there is an old military button embedded in it. Sadly the label fell off from the fossils. I really don't know in which category to put it, but this really doesn't matter.
