    This is a Japanese Geisha Statue, possibly ivory, on teak wood stand with teak wood glass case. Statue height 26cm. case height 16 inch, width 7 inch. Marking on base bottom
    Been in our family since 1965, purchased in Japan.
    Previous appraisal said it is Japanese statue, Meiji period circa 1880.
    thats all I know. Can anyone tell what the marking is, age, date, origin,value?

      If you already got an appraisal, you got some answers...

      I can tell it is actually ivory from the Schreger's lines that can be seen on pic#2!

      Do you know who or what appraiser might know the markings, age, date,etc.?
      I am not well versed in antiques and don't know where to start...

      I'm French from France, so don't know American serious auction houses...
      Anyway, you can try Christie's, Bonham or Sotheby's free online forms on their site :-)
