Belt Buckle from Russia's Caucasus in Niello Silver.
Markings are: 84 ?K and KO probably makers mark.
Between 1896 and 1908, the national mark was the left profile of a woman’s head wearing a diadem (“kokoshnik”). In Russia, two-digit numbers refer to zolotniks, which convert to thousandths, e.g., 84 = 875 silver. The other mark is what I can read a KO or KC probably the makers mark.
Measures 2.4” (6 cm.) by 2” (5 cm.), weighs 27 gr. All parts are present, the two main halves and the chained very small sword.
The last image shows my Russian Niello jewelry.

Have any of you an idea who is the maker and in which city this buckle is made!

There is a 'KC' (Russian Cyrillic alphabet) listed as being in Moscow from 1887-1908, name was Konstantin Skvortsov?

If the mark to the left of the womans head is a '? K', that is the assayer mark for Fyodor Petrovich Konovalov, who worked in Rostov 1899-1911

themuse thank you very much for all your investigation and answer. I've changed image 3 for an image of the marks on the little sword. I read indeed a K and than a C or O. This last is not so clear. You stay on your assayer mark for Fyodor Petrovich Konovalov? Please let me know.

Im sorry! Meant the mark to the RIGHT of the womans head is a ? and a K

And apparently I can't put in the Cyrillic symbol I want, as it keeps getting changed to a '?', which only adds to the confusion. There's the '84', the woman in the kokoshnik, then two tiny marks: one looks like the greek letter 'theta', and the other is a 'k'. These look like the assayers mark for Fyodor Petrovich Konovalov. I hope this helps!

themuse THANKS! indeed this site don't take the Cyrillic symbols but in the mail to me from your answer this symbol was clear and indeed you are right! So this mystery has been solved.
