Are these the things you aren't suppose to get wet?
They are dirty because I NEVER got them wet ! I don't think they are Gremlins tho......
I google imaged them and ... I think they are awful close. Just to be on the safe side, I'd keep them away from water.

No sweat. I have a skate key. I can use it to get out of anything.
I've got a Gizmo(from Gremlins) Furby. It's pretty creepy.

If the old batteries were corroded, you might need to clean the contacts (again?) and put a bit of petrolium jelly on the contacts. I use an old ink pen erraser to clean contacts.

I think that's just about the saddest thing I've read all day. When they were "alive" they were just annoying, but seeing them like this, I kind of feel bad for them. :(
