Heavy goldfish stone paperweight. It's quite a mystery to me, I'm guessing it's a paperweight due to it's size and weight. It measures approx. 5" long by 2.5" wide. Weighs about 1.5 - 2 lbs. Love the marbling in the stone.

      Paperweight or sculpture :-)
      Nice carving!
The stone seems to be russet soapstone.

I haven't tested it yet, let me do that now.

Hmm... most of the fish came back as topaz. On some of the lighter spots it came back as jadeite.

A little scratch test with a steel sharp thing in a hidden part will say!
Soapstone is rather soft and steel will leave a white mark.
Jade is very hard and steel will left a grey trace.
