This aluminum cigarette case was made to commemorate the 3rd Sputnik satellite launch, "Sputnik-3", and is marked with the date 15 May 1958 and the initials CCCP (for the initials of the USSR in Russian). Despite being more than 50 years old, the case looks nearly new—though perhaps someone replaced the interior elastic.
My brother gave this to me for Christmas, as he's become quite the collector of Soviet watches and knows I love space-race-era souvenirs.
