    Can any of you military guys help me id this bag. I thought that the brass hardware might give me some clues, but I don't know where to start. The bag has been through it and repaired a number of times, so I assume it was of some value to the original bearer. There are two interesting little studs or posts that are stitched on the top of the strap. They are visible in in the bottom of the third photo. Would appreciate any help.

      THANK YOU Chris. You are truly amazing! I LOVE this site and just suggested that they make a category for military bags, satchels and backpacks. I suggested one for fishing creels a few years back and they did it, so maybe this will work too. Thanks again. MG
