I just finished the exterior of this small zinc covered trunk. The last picture shows what it looked like when I started. It is approximately 20 wide and 18 inches tall. The latches have a patent date of July 1893, there are two dates on the brass lock plate, March 1869 and April 1872. The interior tray is missing, at some point I will make a replacement tray and finish the interior. Cute size trunk that is in great shape for its age.

Great size trunk that fits just about anywhere. I love the color of the zinc, in contrast to the hardwood slats and black trim.

Really great trunk! I love this size trunk. You did another amazing job on this one. What do you use to clean the zinc with? It looks really amazing!

jscott0363 - Thanks. I used Trunkman's recommendation of lemon juice and fine steel wool to clean the zinc. Works great and brings out the beautiful color of the zinc. Polished the brass lock and removed the finish from the latches, I like the way they stand out now rather than blend in with the trim.
