does anybody know what kind of lamp this is? what kind of bulbs go in it?
I've used for a candle holder for years but it was wired for lights and I want to redo it but have no idea what it originally looked like.

Tricky one, that. You show the fancy parts, but not the elec. parts you ask about.

thank you for responding blunderbuss2 there are no electric parts. It did have wires at one time but they were removed years ago. It has been in an attic for about 15 of the last 20 years and when it was out i always put candles in it. Someone once told me it was standing upside down & should hung on a ceiling? Its very heavy
I dont know what time period or anything about it?

I'm still trying to figure out if it is candle or elec.. I'm trying to figure out things based on knowledge gained when I picked up an orig. candle 90 lb. ceiling piece. It was really old & had chiseled marked numbers etc. on every part & where it went. Does this have that feature ? The ones that hung from high ceilings usually had a pulley sys. to lower it for lighting & would have a large ring at the top. Your's has a base that could be for setting on something or possibly for permanent mounting on a ceiling & to be lighted by long "tapers". If your's has the assembly markings I mentioned, they will also tell you which direction the arms etc. go.
My opinion is that it sets on something.
