      It's a Mexican textile, not Native American, and called a Texcoco, after the region in Mexico where it originated.

      The identifying features are a central diamond pattern, surrounded by a band containing these designs that look somewhat like backward "S" or "5". The solid background is usually blue, with black and white stripes on the ends, but red is often found as well.

      Very nice blanket! My grandfather had a similar one, in blue, as CanyonRoad said, those were the most common, wish I still had it.
