A beautiful carved onyx necklace found at a second-hand store - perfect condition but alas, missing its original pendant. Love the scooped carving on the onyx links. The links have two alternating designs, and interestingly, half of them are facing backwards - perhaps, a careless repair or could it have a special meaning?

I have this very similar necklace - but the lozenges each have seed pearl insets of lilies of the valley. The pendant on mine is a large rectangle with the repeat of the motif.
Yes - mine is also onyx - wasn't' sure at first when I purchased it at auction - thought it might be jet. The weight seems to be from the gold rings in between.
How smart of you to buy it! Isn't treasure hunting fun?
What a great find :)
