How many of you remember Viewmaster? This was the coolest thing back in the 70's. Before video games or cell phones. We had Viewmaster. In the collection we have the following: Aladdin and the wonderful lamp, My Disney abc's, Shazam, Walt Disney's Babes in Toyland and lastly for the sets, Planet Of The Apes Tv series. The others are miscellaneous reels.

My ViewMaster from the '70s is in a cupboard in the basement. I will have to dig it out and see what reels there are. Would be a fun trip down memory lane!

I still have my ViewMaster. Memory lane is exactly right. I would look through mine for hours, I think all my slides are gone except for a few. Thanks for posting.

Shows' how old I am but they were hot in the 60's too. I have one that was my older sisters', and she was 17 years older than I was. (family of hand-me-downs) Of course those reels were mostly tourist spots and not as collectable. I did love getting new reels though.

Vesta had to put mine on just to show how Old some of us really are! LOL

I know what you mean Dave, My daughter told me it was kind of lame and she wanted to play her Wii instead. Oh well, what can i say? Video games just can't touch the coolness of the old viewmasters.

Hi Yardsale and Vesta, Thanks for commenting. Yeah i kinda went through the hand me down thing in my family as well. So i can totally relate to what you said. I used to look through mine for hours as well. I hated when the little film pieces would pop out! and one side you would get but it was cloudy and hard to see.

I have one from the 1940s, so they were popular from way before my time (60s & 70s).

What bring the most money is not the viewers, but some of the reels.

I collect Viewmasters and I just got one at Goodwill today--a fairly new one I don't have. It had a reel in it of underwater creatures.
