I found this item along with 3 more just like it in an old barn in Northwest Ohio. They appear to be made of brass but I am unsure. Bottom base has 2 holes where it mounts to something. All 4 of them have the number 71 stamped on the bottom. They are 10" tall and 13" wide. Bottom of base is 5 1/4" x 1 3/4". I am stumped as to what they are. I don't see any markings on them other than the 71 on the bottom.

Maybe they were on a carriage? Or a fence post ornamentation? Whatever they were they sure are cool!
I never thought of that vintagemad. They would look good on a wrought iron fence. Thanks for your ideas.
