I was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time for this wonderful piece. I believe it to be charcoal on paper and love everything about it. The colors, subject, background. Although, once again the artist name is clearly noted, I have not been able to find out anything online. Of course the frame at this time does not do it justice, it is as I purchased it. I hope to add a matting soon to enlighten the art.

Great illustrator's work. Appears to be a waiter on a Railroad dining car-- see the large window in the background.

Perhaps a study for some sort of RR advertising piece?

The coffe pot and sugar tops may be identifiable to a particular RR as they look somewhat distinctive.

I just met Ms. Duerksen at a retirement home where a relative of mine lives. She was sketching the actors during a play we were watching. I was sitting next to her and asking her about her artwork. She told me she drew the image on the first food stamps ever produced. I looked her name up and found this posting. I will ask her about this work when I return to visit again.
