This was my grandmothers, can anyone tell me about it. It looks like a wolf hunt and I would say it was French. But I really don't know.

I would love to see a close up of the back of the tapestry. If it is handwoven it would certainly be more valuable.

OK I took some more pics of the back and posted them for you. And thank you for taking the time to tell about this.

thank you so much. This tapestry is Jacquard (machine) woven, not handwoven. It is , however, much higher grade than so many of the machine tapestries that we see. The scene is a wolf hunt, of course. There are several countries that produced these tapestries, one being France. Other countries include Belgium, England, Finland, etc... I will check my resourses and see if I can identify this one.
Does it have any marks on the back (company?). What is the size.

It says "Made in France" and it is 3' width x 28" tall. Wow, I live in Phoenix and for the life of me could not get anyone I went to (all recommended by friends) to give me this much info. Thanks.

Great. It has good value and is much higher quality than so many of the machine made ones. The subject of the scene is also an upgrade from the
typical ladies & gents of the courts, etc..... Enjoy it.

If you could find a decorater doing Old World furnishings, you probably could get a better price than an antique mall, etc.... being machine made it could still probably bring 150-200, depending on your location. Hope this helps. Good luck.
