    I think that this is Asian. It is not marked and have a gritty bottom, but nice smooth sides. The design extends all the way around.

      I believe this is a so called Victoria ironstone or Victoria ware. It's a modern Chinese import - you were right it's Asian. Sadly they are often sold as a genuine antique Staffordshire pottery on ebay or in antique shops.
