I purchased this antique tea box because I just loved the design and beauty of it. I was amazed at the great shape of the lithograph - I knew it was old, but wasn't sure HOW old. Once we got home and started searching we found that it was patented in or around 1907. I've searched everywhere and haven't found any information on this particular box - the one with the RED bow on front - almost all I've found have green bows. Per the litho on the front, it held 20 lbs of tea net. The outside of the box (all of the designs) are lithographed and are beautiful in color and detail for being as old as it is. The interior was originally lined in tin, but the bottom portion of tin is missing - although the wood portion of the box is in excellent shape. I would be thrilled to find out any additional information if you can help. I've seen one other right now on ebay but I'm not sure if the info is correct, the ad shows it's from the 1800's but the earliest patent that we found was from 1907. Thanks for looking and hope someone has some additional info for me, any would be greatly appreciated. I'm not a collector of tea boxes, just thought it was really neat.
