I purchased this on eBay because I recognized the company. The Schrafft's Chocolate Co. in Boston, Mass. The man who sold this to me said he had 4 of them. Someone else on eBay is selling 4 of them! This leads me to believe that these were given as a "premium" for buying the chocolates ? It is supposedly in the U.S. Glass Co. "Massachusetts" pattern ( a State series that this glass company produced). I've seen it also called "Pattern #15054", "Arched Diamond Points", "Cane Variant Geneva" or "Star and Diamonds".
The plate is 6" square. relatively "flat", but flares up at the edges (like a saucer would). In the middle of each side--it has a raised, arched smooth section with the name "Schrafft's" on it. There is a plain rectangular band in the center of the plate that says, "Schrafft's Chocolates".
I will post some more pictures in Part 2.
