Wish I knew more about this beauty. Left to my by my Grandma. I think it's from the 20's 0r 30's. I would never part with it but any additional info would be appreciated.

I suspect that could be an imitation due to the lack of information on the case back. Cartier watches all carry serial numbers, as Cartier keeps records of their watches. Take it to someone in your area who specializes in Cartier watches and have it examined. The case back needs to be removed.

This link is about a different style of 1930s Cartier watch, but the specifics should be the same for any Cartier watch:

Thanks for the information much appreciated. Would you know if the serial numbers are always on the outside of the case or on the inside? There are definitely no numbers on the outside case.

I would think that the serial numbers would be on the outside. All Cartier watches/jewelry must have a registered serial number somewhere on the item.

      A bit more info:

      Inscription
The simplest way to tell a fake Cartier watch is to remove the caseback. A genuine Cartier watch will have "Cartier" inscribed on the movement.

      Serial Number
This should appear on the back or side of a genuine Cartier. The number will be engraved as a number of fake Cartiers feature a serial number that's barely etched onto the watch.

I'll have it checked at a watch repair and have them take the case off and see what we find. Thanks agin for your help.
