    I wish I knew more about this item It is H J Fenton made in England I believe due to It's size that it is a chamber pot 8" high by 9" across double handled. It does not have a lid tho originally it may or may not have.

      Agree. Chamber pots should have a smooth, even rim. But let's not get there:)
      I am sure there should be a better use for it. Nice pot, though.

      I agree much too pretty to well you know and who wants to do that on a pot with a courting scene on it.

      Ok I have solved the mystery! It is A G Harley Jones Royal Vienna circa 1907 Fenton Staffordshire England and correct it is not a chamber pot it is likely a jardinierre or as said above a planter possbly an urn but would expect that to have a pedestal base.
