Here's an interesting cheesecake photo advertising Congress Cut Plug Tobacco. I'm not sure when its from or if its an original or reprint. It seems to be an original. It has a black back. It measures 2 5/16 x 4 inches.

This could be real. Some early tobacco cards are photographs mounted on cardboard. Look under a loupe or magnifier to see if there are NO printing dots. I have an early Duke's Mixture photographic tobacco card posted here on CW - it also has a black back. You can see it at: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/101815-1880s-dukes-mixture-tobacco-card-with

Early non-real photos had what could be called ''print dots,'' same with many colourised photos, rniederman. But this is a real photo and looks real.
