Another Necklace from my "Glass Vase Full of Jewelry"

Necklace is made by premier designs (costume jewelry). ...but this pendant looks beautiful on it.
Perfect Marriage if you ask me.
The pendant is Marked .925 in two places...very hard to see but I did my best.
Any ideas out there on what type of stone this is????

      Another good find!
For the stone, from pic#3, it is a crystal twinning ("macle" in French)... I don't know what :-)
It has been cut and polished as a cab, very unusual!

Thinking an amethyst, though it has lot of white in it, and would expect a crystal beeing more pure purple :-)

You can see in the stone the natural crystal form - hexagonal shape, I think it's a ruby, of course not gem quality. http://www.manchesterminerals.co.uk/acatalog/Natural-Hexagonal-burgundy-RUBY-crystal--2-0cms--carded--RubyXtl20mm.html
