    I am extremely unfamiliar with any form of older furniture, these just looked like an interesting shape to me. They may have already been someone's project or merely a home workshop number, but the old castings were a curiosity too

      They look like a first attempt at a luxury theatre seat. Overall a great design, with nice lines and curves.

      I have since found the same set with a different upholstery, apparently they could be a 1920's Blackwood 3 piece lounge suite. The item at the back of the photo is a 2 seater.
