Found my first piece of MCM German Pottery this week and with appropriate synchronicity is a heart shaped lava by Carstens Ceramics. Founded in 1900, factories were lost to DDR after the war, so brothers Ernst and Christian moved to w.germany and between 1947 and 1984 made a significant impact on European ceramics. During the 1960/70's they were particularly successful with their 'Fat Lava' vases. Ernst's wife Trude created most of the shapes and designs until her death in 1965.
