I recently purchased what I think is a model of a steam engine and how it operates. The only writing on the object is "Deal Courtney & Frankenfield Balanced Slide Valve Pat. Aug. 14 1883." I would just like to know a little more about the history of this object and what it may have been used for. I know it's related to steam power in some way. It's approx. 2ft. long with an 11 inch flywheel and the valve is approx. 5in.
Thanks,
