I found this small glass item in a flea market a few months ago. I love jugs of every shapes and sizes, so I wasn't able to leave it there. What makes it interesting for me the staple repair. In those times the broken household items were repaired at home or taken to the metalsmith to be brought back to life. For every metal staple, repairers had to hand drill two small holes through ceramic or glass, then carefully hammer the staple to its place. Once fixed, the items continued to be loved, used and passed on for generations.
It speaks to me too.
You lucky ducky! I would love to find some items with this old repair. I think they're great.
Thank you Efesgirl and Racer4four for your comments. Here in UK I found quite a few items with this kind of repair. Most of the collectors don't appreciate them, but I think they have got their own charm.

Yes, I saw a little dish with a repair like that the other day in a shop, didn't appeal to me. BUT, I've never seen glass repaired!
I see mainly ceramic plates with these repairs popping up on "Bargain Hunt" and "Flog It!" Yours is the first glass object I've seen with such a repair.
