    Anybody know where to research what appears to be 1930's style wood wall phone with Chinese decal? Diagram inside (almost faded out) also appears to be in Chinese

      A few photos of the phone itself would be helpful.

      There is a very knowledgeable phone guy on this site (Tom) who could surely steer you in the right direction with some views of the entire phone.

      Your wall phone was made by Western Electric International & Nippon Electric Co. Ltd. Tokyo, Japan. The wall phone is tailored after the Western Electric US model type 293 produced after 1907.

      Thanks for the info! So do you think it was manufactured in the first part of the century or mid-century? The capacitor has 1954 on it but it looks a lot newer and different than the other innards. Could it have been a replacement?
