This was really tarnished. I still can't get all of it off, but it looks a darn sight better now than when I brought it home. I looked everywhere and didn't find any marks. I don't know the proper name for the type of clasp, so can't look it up to see if it corresponds to a particular year. I'll be taking it to my friend, Geri, for testing.
The last photo is how it looks now, after a good cleaning to get rid of most of the black patina and gunk which was stuck within the design.

Don't wear any jewelry personally, 'cept my wedding band and the occasional watch, but for some reason enjoy lookin' at em, 'specially bracelets. Nice, vintage-looking piece ya got here. {;>)
Thanks, NevadaBlades! I am still trying to determine the age via the clasp. So far, I haven't manage to find ANY bracelets on Google Images with this kind of clasp. I emailed a site that deals in vintage jewelry, so maybe something will come of it.
AM, I hear that, lol! When something is as filthy as this was, it needed cleaning. There was gunk in-between the holes and stuck in the design. Yes, I made photos of how it looks now. Much improved. There is still some patina left, but it's not so black anymore. The items you shouldn't clean, which are silver, are normally big items such as silver trays, silver coffee pots, tea pots, candlesticks and the like. Over-cleaning is no good and the design could be ruined by too much rubbing. Jewelry should be cleaned up at least partially to make it presentable. If you have a sonic cleaner, that will help shake loose anything which might be stuck to the jewelry item. Don't put jewelry with stones in a sonic cleaner because you run the risk of cracking the stones. :-)

rucklcz, yes it can be awkward at times deciding whether to clean a piece ,and then how well it should be cleaned. There is still patina on the bracelet, but the gunk is gone. Yuk, lol!
