A little over a month ago michelledenny posted a hand held fire extinguisher with a coke label. She wanted more information. At first blush it seemed authentic to a novice.
Ray, our resident Coke expert immediately knew it was a fake. ..but it looked sooo real...
We had a new guy who refinishes fire extinguishers for a living see it and mentally compare it to a Disney fire extinguisher that he had seen at a Museum! That's fair, if one is real the other MIGHT be, right?
WRONG! Ray was good enough to show us a fake Coke plate that wasn't attached to any thing and I found evidence that the Disney plate was in the same category, uh, fake.
Our new friend was able to go to the museum and show them the evidence and save them some potential embarassment. Thanks, Ray.
...and michelledenny, while you know it is a fantasy item, if you want it shined up I can put you in touch with the guy that restored all of these ! I'm just saying...
