    Rabone cable measure with wood and brass ends, adjustable slide rule for ropes and cables. Part of the safety and check equipment of the vintage years.

    Rabone made lots of ruler normally the quad folding types with brass ends. They also made spirit levels. This is the first one with a specific purpose.

      It's a cordage gauge caliper, not a slide rule. A slide rile is a computing device, this is a measuring device. The strength of the various thicknesses of cords and cables can be read in the tables on the back.
