The clock features a Nefer-Temu Pharaoh Hound guarding time on top. The dog is pot metal with traces of a gold wash. I had the clock cleaned and serviced, nothing I was going to tackle on my on.

The person who previously owned it, or one of its owners in it's past had a three pack a day habit, the marble was coated with nicotine as was the movement, it cleaned up very nicely.

The clock case is polished marble, very heavy and was made for the movement according to the clock repair specialist said, he said the movement was a Henri Japy Freres (1848-1935) movement made about 1880. It strikes on the half-hour and hour the clock is 15 inches in length x 13 inches in height x 4 inches wide, each garniture is 6 inches in height X 3 inches squared in height and depth. The clock and garnitures all have brass feet.

This looks to me like Art Nouveau or Art Deco with the Egyptian influence that showed up just after 1922 with the opening of King Tut's tomb. That would make the dog on top a Pharaoh Hound. Keep in mind, I have been wrong before...

It does look like a Nefer-Temu Pharaoh Hound, the numerals on the face of the clock look very Egyptian. Thanks I corrected the title and post.
