I found this toaster at an Estate sale and just thought it was unusual so I got it. I recognize the Coleman name for camping and outdoor gear, but didn't realize they ever made kitchen appliances. My search of the internet has not given me any history so I would like to know if anyone has information about this toaster. Each time I tried it wants to give me Toaster Oven.
Here is the description: It is chrome all over. There are two drawers that slide out to put in the bread and hold it while it toasts. The knobs on the drawers do not feel like wood, maybe they are bakelite. The heating elements are on both sides, so it toasts both sides of the bread at the same time. It has black wood handles and a removeable power cord. I have not tried to plug it in yet although I have the cord and it appears to be in perfect condition. The design around the top appears to be Art Deco style and there are slits to vent heat.
The label says:
Coleman Toast Oven
Patent Applied For
Coleman Lamp and Stove Company Wichita, Kans U.S.A.
If you have any questions, I will provide any additional information I can.
I would appreciate any additional information on this toaster.
Thank you.

Found this online, looks like it's from an old book. If this is correct, this piece originates between 1930-1937.
