I googled 'vintage pontiac hood ornament' and found this to be a 1951 unit. I didn't bother to go about finding the value because you didn't ask but you can do a search like I did and find that ............again it's a nice thing and I'm sure old Chief Pontiac will be alot warmer in your house !

      Hey Nikkie,
I don’t know how to address you! But anyway here are some tricks I use for eBaying. I have tried to share these with some of my other friends but they just don’t get it.
My #1 is lots of Photos, and if there not in a category where they are free, use a link in your description, if you need to know how let me know.
#2 is always try to have a wide variety of items, it’s just like a store does putting crap near the register, you will draw people who are looking for one thing but they will browse all your stuff and buy something they didn’t know they wanted.
#3 I always try to list at least one item that will fit in a small flat rate box and offer that as worldwide shipping. That will get you out there and you will get a lot more people sucked into your site. You will find that people will contact you about shipping other items you don’t have worldwide, and then you can open the bid to them if they have 100 % or near positive feedback, and shipping international isn’t any big deal, and they for the most part have a load of money or they wouldn’t even be looking; I.E. I sold a lady in Japan a tea service (silver plated) for $512.00, that I couldn’t get $10.00 for at the flea market.
      # 4 Keep your listing as simple as possible, most people only spend 15 seconds on a page. Only describe your item; all the rest is just for not because eBay is going to rule the way they are going to rule no matter what you have on your page; and all the particulars will scare a lot of people off. I started out adding all those rules, but soon found out they don’t mean crap. I learned from Platinum sellers about keeping it lean.
#5 Key word spam as much as you can; use as many different words as you can think of that will even remotely describe your item in the title. That should have been # 1.
#6 start items as low as you can without losing money; or try to figure out your bottom line, and then add shipping if you can, that’s hard to do, but it will make you money in the long run because free shipping sucks them in, and you won’t pay eBay another 9% on the shipping, you only pay the 9% once.
Those are all I can think of for now, if I remember any more I will let you know. I hope some of this helps. When I started using all of these, my percentage when I look at my completed listings as a whole increased in sold items by no less than 40%. I keep showing my buddies up here the difference between my completed & theirs, but they still can’t get it.

i only disagree with antiquejunkys #4, (IN THE OIL & GAS SIGN CATAGORY). I have found that the MORE (acurate) info. you can provide, the more comfortable the buyer is in spending large amounts of money on that item. When i say buyer, i mean COLLECTOR not a re-saler. They want Provinance, (at least i do. When im laying down 200.0-400.00$ , i dont want to hear "i bought it from some 100yr. old guy a couple of years ago & really dont know anything about it." I also "steer-clear" of any no-returns sellers, thats a BIG red flag! But on e-bay & life its "buyer-beware" so do your homework early. Some of my highest bid items ive started at .01 cent. Of coarce, there completely authentic & i state that in my title along with all the history i can supply in the description. Well, sorry for talking your ear off, especially since were talking "apples & oranges".
