    This is a beautiful hand painted Russian lacquer egg that I acquired st at an estate sale .This one is probably an ornament for a tree as it has a loop on the end.

      Thank you!!! I think the Russian eggs are more contemporary in nature as most all of the Russian painted lacquer boxes that I have collected I purchased all of these from sales paying 25 cents up to 5.00 for the more ornate onesThey are all works of art in their own right, The Victorian egg is the only antique one on the bunch.
