Wondering how old this might be. I was told the bottom reads made in the Kangxi years. I don't know what to think. Thanks

Kangxi is correct. The mark, rotated 90 degrees clockwise reads top down and right to left, Kangxi, Period Made. The Kangxi reign in the Qing dynasty lasted from 1662 to 1722. Your mark is very close to a known period mark, and the decoration is well done, so it might be worthwhile to to pursue an appraisal. If you have a museum with an Asian collection, or an auction house in your area, those would be a good starting point. Good luck.

Nice! It's a ginger jar. Originally used to store ginger salt or rare spices. The jars are called ginger jars as they often contained ginger when they were exported. Used to have a domed lid, rare to find one though with intact lid.
the base mark was done with a stamp, so i doubt it's actually kangxi. it's what's known as an honorific mark - made in honor of the period, rather than of the period.

Never trust emperor marks.
Painting is poorly done, the glaze color is wrong, the foot is wrong. . . made in the last 20 years.

so it cant be before 1890. namely the kangxi revival so from 1890-2020
there is a light blue afterglare and a dark tonality of the blue
you got the ferro sedimentation although they overdid the rubbed it in it
this is a quite well vase around 1900
