    approx 9" tall, very heavy, not iron (maybe brass), looks like wearing armour of some sort and military hat? Arm holes and hole on bottom make me wonder if it was a post topper, hitching post, or steering device?

    Probably pre civil war was most info anyone has ever been able to offer.
