1909 postcard with the second strangest message I have ever read on one. I will try to completely decipher it because, frankly, if ever one would like to snoop into others' business, this is it.

    Message:
"My dear. Winnie. I can't remember if I sent you a card or not but I will send you one now to be sure. I was first wondering if you were married yet. If you are not I'll send you my adress so you [can??] send me [?? ???? ????] [???] soon [yours??] [???? ????] all the love
adress Butterworth [?] Hospital [g.r.?] [M?]" [Grand Rapids, Michigan?]

Postcard is titled, I'll Stand on My Record Ace High.
The lady is holding an Ace and standing on an early form of music-playing record known as a wax cylinder.
    I don't get it.

A Women's Suffrage image was one suggestion but I think it's a bit more racey ... showing her ankles .... standing on her record. Confident!

Martha Steuer did many of these visual pun images .... challenging the role of women at that time.

Thanks for commenting, you two. :)

I agree with the confidence. Later they'd say, "I'm tops!" Which is, I'm at the top! Now it's, "I'm boss!" LOL.
