    (1017 items)

This brooch came from the same stall holder where I bought my pair of ivory horses. The first thing I thought of when I saw it was a Major General. That's what 10 years in the military does to a person, lol! I took it to my friend, Geri, and she examined/tested it for silver content. At first, we thought it might be a marriage of two separate items. That doesn't seem to be the case. Measures about an inch in length. Has a C clasp and tube hinge which dates it to around 1850-1910.

    I tried:
    twin star silver brooch
    double star silver victorian brooch
    twin star victorian silver pin
    major general twin star brooch
    two star victorian brooch
    double star pin
    Image seach: big fat zero

I really have no idea about this brooch. Maybe one of you out there in CW Land knows.

    Thanks for looking/loving,
    ~Bonnie

Strange, but you deserve 3 more beautiful stars General Bonnie :-)

kyratango, our Bonnie does indeed deserve a brilliant gold star by her name, as do you. :)

Bonnie, I agree with you, this looks more military than fashion, I took a look around and didn't find anything yet. Most American medals use a five point star, in any case, nothing I came across uses a chain. Still looking, though!

katherine - I couldn't find anything, either. An Image search got me nowhere. The woman I bought it from gets her stuff from everywhere; she didn't even know it was silver. It's so annoying when nothing at all comes to mind aside from a possible military connection but nothing is found anywhere. It seems like an off piece of jewelry, as jewelry goes - ya know?

This being 6-point stars doesn't really offer up much in the way of anything, either :(

Hard to think it's a brooch with that particular styling. The added fact that it's sterling leans more toward something formal.

It's for hanging eyeglasses on. Google antique brooch eyeglass holder. You'll see a bunch, but not like that star.

Hey Celiene - good job! This pin is useless for my modern glasses. Those thin wire framed glasses made in the same era as this pin are suitable, however. :-)))) Too bad I can't see through my old wire frames!
