    Tool appears to be intended for measuring angles. The only identifying marking on the tool is the number 168 stamped near the base. There is no English writing anywhere on the case or the tool, but the measuring marks are imperial. Width and height are about 6-8 inches.

      I overhauled props for about 3 yrs. & our prop protractor didn't look like this. I gave away an Amer. gunners quadrant several yrs ago that looked almost identical to this. Of course they both do the same thing.

      It is a WWII Japanese Gunner's Quadrant - waiting to see if any of my friends on Facebook can translate.
