Seth Thomas belonged to my in-laws who gave it to me not running. I do not know when they purchased it or if it was given to them. A clockmaker who did some minor work (Cleaned and adjusted) said it was a Connecticut Shelf clock. Can't find a nameplate or label. Runs well. Besides the chime, it has an alarm that will wake the dead. Would appreciate any info or references anyone can add.

      Hi
I like these old clocks chime's. They can give "old times" feeling in the house. I'll keep one clock chime on, one by one, in the daytime.

Hi JohnK860 You have a Seth Thomas mantel clock from their City Series. This is their "Omaha", Circa 1880s. There are many other examples online, here's one: http://www.prices4antiques.com/Shelf-Clock-Seth-Thomas-Omaha-8-Day-Walnut-19-inch-B189327.html

Thanks, Brice99. Really appreciate the research. With that info, I found a number of pictures and descriptions. Interestingly, tho, I haven't found one that calls out an alarm function. Gives me something to follow up on. Again, thanks for the information.

The "Omaha" link many of these types of clocks were offered with several different movement options. The Alarm feature was a little extra. Here's an example with the Alarm option: https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/6092377_seth-thomas-omaha-city-clock
