This is very pretty. I see what looks like a maker's stamp on the left side of the brooch, on the back, but the photo is too blurry to make it out.
This pretty brooch is in wrong category, it is costume Jewellery, some collectors will be more helpful about maker :-)
All I can say it is not a stone but painted back glass/rhinestone/paste/strass.
The mark looks to be the letter x. it has it ain a number if differant places on the front of it and the back however this is not a broach as it has the original clasp attached from where it was once on a chain which I may have but unsure if this chain goes with it I have also researched differant stones and fakes and done some simple home test and as I said in the original post the photos do not show how vibrant the stone is and after some Home tests I really dont think this is painted glass and the craftsmanship of the detail in the gold when looking just seems to fit the fine jewellery category and figured this would be good place to start. .
If you don't believe it is strass costume and are firmly convinced is is fine jewelry, emerald and gold...
Go to the nearest jeweler and have it tested!
