My mother left me this most amazing album full of little business-card sized images documenting her life. Her grandfather made a "pin-hole" camera out of a cigar box for her to use. I would like to share some of these pictures.
Almost every summer, my mother would go with her parents and grand parents for a Catalina Island vacation. (Let's see...how's the song go, "twenty-six miles across the sea Santa Catalina is waiting for me...") They would ride the deck of a real steam ship for a 3-hour trip to the island. On the island, they stayed in what was called "tent city" and spent their evenings dancing at the Pavillion in Avalon Bay. Sounds great!
