    I picked this up at Goodwill today. I like these humble figures - even if they are fairly new. This one is probably made in Shiwan in the 70s/80s. i like the colors and expression on this handmade piece.

      thanks KeriJ. i really like shiwan pottery - mudmen. i didn't think much of this one when i first got it, but it has grown on me a lot. i think it's a wonderful piece, regardless of how old it is. i have another really amazing one here:

      It's a majolica mud man due to the colour of the glaze .if it has just Chinese stamped on the bottom it dates to 1910-1940.
