I am trying to learn the history of the stove/oven. It came with a fixer upper mountain home in lake arrowhead CA area. looking for year and information so we can have a story and history when we have time to restore or re-purpose.

1910's-20. These people will know. That is superb. Can't find one with the glass door.

      A.B. stove opened in 1909.

That glass door is SO rare. That STOVE is so rare. I can't find another like it on Image search. I'm amazed anyone could use it! Look how thin the oven doors are - with no insulation! They must have gotten HOT. I wonder if it was a prototype or something. And that crazy upper burder! And all the gas piping everywhere. FANTASTIC!

CLEARLY it was used! Was that the only source of cooking in the cabin? Was it still being used recently? The ash on the burner grate looks recent.

I want to buy a 'fixer upper' cabin with contents! Someone else bought one in the area and posted that big sign for the Howard Hughes spy plane, too!

      thank you Celiene.

the original owner might have been considered a minor hoarder, per son we talked to who sold the place, and this was just something she found up there and kept in storage for as long as son can remember. it was covered with losts of stuff. it turned out more cool as we cleaned. the son was guessing 1908 but i will go to the link you posted.

he claimed his mom said it was first gas oven-stove combo but maybe first for AB.

we cracked one knob moving but i found those for sale. many many stairs to get to street and it happened. luckily glass ok.

even the back wall is thin, and you can see why fires were very common back in early days, and I'm sure burns on arms, but the luxury of having was probably work it.

I have been afraid of touching until i knew more. I might put glass on stove areas and top and make a little coffee center in the addition we did. almost have wife talked into it. this way it seen and kinda used and still gets preserved for later.

I have looked many hours trying to find something similar online. how i found this site as i was a bit more determined.

      thanks a bunch.

      hi semi local spiritbear.

I stayed up there too for a minute. Seems a lot of people just walk off without their belongings. Kind of cool being on the receiving end of that. There are a lot of sites you can look at...just google antique stoves and have at it. Good luck. It looks to be n excellent condition too. Double nice.
